The Waikato Equestrian Centre is an area of approximately 45 hectares situated on the banks of the Waikato River. The beautiful Farm Park contains plenty of features to assist you and your horse in training and learning and also provides a great competition venue serving the Waikato.

Jumping Membership
Jump as often as you like on the cross country and the SJ Practice arena for a one off annual subscription of $160 or $210 for a family of four. No hidden costs, NO GROUND FEES to school at WEC and much more. Riding more than one horse? No extra charge! Subcriptions run for 12 months from the application acceptance date.
Non -Jumping Membership
Non-Jumping members can use the WEC facilities for pleasure riding, flatwork/dressage and fitness training with NO GROUND FEES to school at WEC and much more. Non-Jumping Membership is an annual subscription of $110 or $160 for a family group. If they wish to jump, they may pay $20 per horse per day at the Riding School to jump the cross country and showjumps.
Day Pens or Overnight pens and paddock hire are available by arrangement.
Please ph the WEC Riding School to let us know you will be arriving and if you are not a member please pay at the Riding School on Pukete Road. Eftpos is available. After hours payment can be made by arrangement. Find out how becoming a member offers you great savings when you use WEC facilities.
Riding School
The Riding School Entrance is off Pukete Road and sports a floodlit 20 x 60m all weather sand ménage and an adjoining boomerang-shaped barn containing stalls for 15 ponies. The Riding School also includes two stables, a cobbled courtyard, holding yards and a high-sided round pen. The school also caters to special needs and disabled riders. The Riding School offers Farm rides and Riding Lessons with qualified instructors for all levels of riding.
Grazing
Spaces will be advertised as they become available. An application form will be posted with the ad. Watch our home page for details.

Cross Country Jumps
Spread over the picturesque farm park there are over 60 cross country jumps from pre-training to Novice. The well drained sandy soils give great footing all year round. The centre hosts Spring and Autumn training and novice horse trials. Please note the cross country jumps are unavailable for one month prior to these events to prepare the course.

Show Jumps
A Show Jumping arena with a 10 jump course is situated in the Riverside sand arena. This is available FREE to Jumping Members or with a $20 fee per horse to all others. The course is altered regularly. From time to time the Riverside Sand arena is booked for events so please check for availablity at the Riding School ph 07 849 6756.
Pipe Arena
A PVC pipe arena is usually located in the Riverside Sand arena for dressage schooling and practicing tests. This is available FREE to all members or can be used by visitors with a fee of $20 per horse per day. This may not be available in weekends when competitions are using the Riverside arenas. Staff aim to have this back up on a Monday but please phone 849 6756 to check availablilty.
NB: The arena is currently away awaiting pick up by Puhinui. It will be put back up as soon as it returns.
Riverside Sand Arena 130 x 68m
The Riverside Sand Arena is frequently used as a venue for dressage and jumping competitions. It is available for hire by instructors and event organisers. The
Riverside Arena is open all year round to members and paying visitors for dressage and jump schooling when not otherwise booked. To check availability please enquire at the WEC Riding School for rates and availability. Ph 07 8496756 or email

The Riverside Grass Arena 240 x 85m
This large picturesque grass field looks out over breathtaking views of the Waikato River, Hakarimata Ranges and grand riverside mansions. It provides great footing all year round for schooling and is frequently used as a competition venue for various equestrian disciplines. The WEC Riverside Grass Arena is open all year round to members and paying visitors for schooling when not otherwise booked. Western Arena
The western arena is a large, fully enclosed sand arena situated at the back of the Riverside Arena.
Please - No jumping allowed in the western arena.

Hall Dressage Arena 63 x 27m
Situated behind the WEC Hall on Pukete Road, this sand arena is is available to members and paying visitors for schooling and can booked for exclusive use by instructors. Please enquire at the WEC Riding School for rates and availability. Ph 07 8496756 or email admin@horses.net.nz
The Farm Park
The beautiful tree-lined Pukete Farm Park is accessable to members and paying riders for hacking out and fitness training.
It runs alongside the Waikato River and the 45ha of rolling parkland is ideal for pleasure riding and fitness training. Riding in the Farm Park is
free to members or $20 to non-members.
Hall Hire
A large hall with kitchen facilities is available for meetings, lectures and approved private functions. It's rural location within the City boundary makes it ideal for band practices, dance groups or club gatherings. Bookings to be made at the WEC Riding School ph 849 6756 or email info@horses.net.nz

The Riding Centre has two stables available for temporary overnight accomodation or convalescing horses.
