The NZ Equine Industry Training Organisation services and facilitates training incorporating the breeding, thoroughbred and harness racing (includes racing facility administration and maintenance) farriery, equestrian sport and recreation

Kyrewood Equestrian Centre is registered and accredited to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), the Government's controller of all education. It is accredited to deliver equine courses up to Level 4, and is the only Private Training Establishment in the North Island, and one of only three in the whole of New Zealand accredited to this level. Students come to Kyrewood from all parts of the country, and also from overseas, taking NZQA courses for up to 34 weeks. The two English tutors employed to teach both the NZQA courses are both highly qualified and outstanding in their field. For New Zealand citizens, all full-time NZQA courses are eligible for Student Loans and Allowances, and are government subsidised.
All courses are full-time - 6.5 hours each day, five days each week. They include practical lessons, classroom time and written assignments. Where a course includes a riding element, the student's weekly timetable will provide many hours of riding tuition on a range of horses appropriate to their level of ability.
