Trekking

Our farm trails run beside the beautiful Waikato River and wind through the scenic tree-lined Pukete Farm Park.
Bring your own horse or hire a pony from the Waikato Equestrian Centre Riding School.  We have horses and ponies to cater to all levels of experience.  Our staff will walk out with you on your trek allowing you to safely experience the great New Zealand outdoors from horseback.  

$30  half hour per rider
$40  hour per rider

For the less confident rider or for children, ponies can be kept on a lead rein guided by our Riding School staff. Or if you are confident you may choose to lead your own child.

$20/ half hour per rider    Parent/Caregiver lead
$25/ half hour per rider    Riding School staff lead

Riders are instructed in basic riding skills and are in the care of experienced, knowledgeable staff.

Special Occasions

On your family holiday, if you could take to take a trek close to town but with the rural feel, the Waikato Equestrian Centre is the place to come.  We do family packs. 

Group packs:  10% off the treking price for a group of 4 and 15% off the treking price for a group of 5 or more.

Bookings are essential so that we have appropriate staff on site.

Birthday Parties

This is an excellent chance to give both experienced children and non-experienced children who are horse-mad the opportunity to go out in a group.  We do 1/2 hour or 1 hour sessions.  During this time the group goes for a ride by the Waikato River.  We are happy to arrange things such as treasure hunts (goodies bags provided by parents)

When booking 4 or more riders you get 10% off the treking price. 

When booking 5 or more riders you get 15% off the treking price.

We have a picnic area available for use for morning/afternoon tea and you are even welcome to bring the birthday cake!
