NORTH ISLAND TEAMS EVENT
2ND & 3RD JANUARY 2010
NITE Results 2010
Eighteen teams were entered in the North Island Teams Event hosted by the HORSE Club during the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd January, 2010 held at the Waikato Equestrian Centre.
After months of meetings by the Organisers and preparation to put all the programme together, the day finally arrived. Luckily the weather was good and the teams started to arrive early to camp for the weekend.
Everything was in place for the start on the Saturday morning with the grounds looking fantastic, riders up early for the "Turn Out" phase, judges in place and it was all on.
The HORSE Club had entered a team consisting of Christine Pratt, Annette Bardsley, Louise Keesing, Debbie Stevens and Susan Brennan. Susan was competing in the jumping phases only.
Wusses of Oz perform quadrille Thames Valley Team
Aptly named the "Wusses of Oz", the team rode to the music put together by Noeline Jeffries from the soundtrack of "The Wizard of Oz". When you can tap your feet to the music, then you know that it's a good beat and it suited the paces of the horses who worked together in perfect unison.

Three team members, Louise, Annette and Debbie, had never competed in this event before and they were all absolutely thrilled with their achievements.
Some very good intricate movements in some of the quadrille routines were evident and of course Franklin is a very hard team to beat with their perfectly performed routine by their "Red Hot to Trot" team.
Sunday was the day that the HORSE Club gained their 4th in the cross country, having to ride with only three in the team as Susan decided to withdraw her horse due to lameness which was very unfortunate. They also gained a 4th in the Showjumping with Louise gaining extra points at the "Joker" jump for the team. The end result was a third overall and of course the Team and their supporters were absolutely thrilled.
Many thanks to the Horse Club Organisers for a truly well organized event. No major accidents, perfect weather, great atmosphere - what more could you ask for.
